ACC Hosts Biking Champion to Sokhna Factory

Arabian Cement Company hosted Rafa Tibau, the Spanish Junior 26” European Champion. ACC proudly sponsored the Spanish Champion, who most recently won the Bike Trial championship 2011. Tibau was asked to come to Egypt to film a promotional video in Cairo. The 19 year old champion arrived to the country with his father, but only stayed for a short period of time, as he had to return for his exams.

ACC is supporting Tibau’s biking career as an international bike trial rider because “he embodies our corporate spirit: He is a young, dynamic athlete who chose a very challenging sport to practice. He enjoys challenges; the more challenging the obstacle, the more fulfilling. The core of this sport is to overcome obstacles using his senses, skills and techniques. It is simple and environmentally friendly. He is an affable person and is humble by nature. At such a young age (19 years old) he has already made great achievements (2nd place in Europe and 1st in Spain).” said Jose Magrina, ACC CEO.

Commenting on his trip to Egypt, Tibau said “I’m truly grateful for ACC’s support. Not only are they helping me to excel in my competitions, but they have also given me the rare opportunity to visit this magnificent country. Egypt was an amazing experience; I walked close to Tahrir square and felt awe-inspired. It was an honor to visit a country with limitless history and culture.”

Tibau started his career at age 12 by practicing in school. By age 15 he was selected to join the technical sports center in Ripoll, where by age 16 he began to participate in international competitions. At the age of 17 he was ranked number 2 on the European level and 3rd on the international level in the juniors’ category. In 2010, at the age of 18 he won the Europe Junior and was simultaneously starting his studies at the University of Barcelona in the faculty of Pharmacy.
